Ted Cohen, former ceo and owner of Hillside Candy, recently received the 74th Annual Kettle Award for his work in the industry — including his vital role in advancing sugar-free hard candy.
Morse, a Michigan native, will be featured in the 2017 Wild & Wacky Edition of Ripley’s Believe it or Not, which is designed for children ages 8 to 12. The special edition will be distributed to more than one million schools, libraries and families in North America, Australia and parts of Europe.
The biggest challenge, though, is not how much better-for-consumers the candy should be. It’s the cost of sugar, which is an understandably important ingredient in making lollipops.
