M&M’S, a Mars Wrigley Confectionery brand, has earned one of Nielsen’s Design Impact Awards, which recognize successful package redesigns in the consumer packaged goods space.
It’s no question that U.S. consumers are snacking more, and manufacturers have risen to support, and even drive, this trend. But the prevailing idea that most consumers snack "on the go" might not be totally accurate, the Hartman Group reported.
Consumer packaged goods companies can’t afford to turn a blind eye to the cannabis industry. That’s according to Larry Levin, executive v.p. of market and shopper intelligence at IRI. He recently touched on the topic during a Candy Industry webinar, "Candy: State of the Industry."
While the amount of options may be daunting, it works in the consumer’s favor, since it pushes chocolate bar manufacturers to find their niche through choice of
ingredients, flavor combinations, packaging and price.
