ISM's 2023 theme will allow for discussions around challenges facing the confectionery industry.

Koelnmesse and its global ISM network aim to take the show, previously known as yummex Middle East, to the next level this year by improving the visitor and exhibitor experience.

Koelnmesse also reported it has received exhibitor applications from 56 countries, with more than 30 country pavilions confirming their participation.

Koelnmesse is following the wishes of the confectionery and snacks industry by shortening the ISM 2023 duration four to three days for 2023.

Organizers for ISM have postponed the 2023 show from January to April 23-25, citing the cost increases facing the confectionery industry and unpredictability in consumer behavior.

Effective June 1, Claire Steinbrück, previously director of imm cologne, will become vice president FoodTec. Bastian Mingers is transferring from Messe Düsseldorf to Cologne to assume responsibility for the Food business unit.

Koelnmesse will welcome 1,200 exhibitors from more than 60 countries to Cologne for ISM 2022, set for Jan. 30-Feb. 2, after canceling the in-person trade fair last year.

More than 180 exhibitors from over 30 countries will present their products and innovations during yummex Middle East, set for Nov. 7-9 at the Dubai World Trade Center.

In November 2020, after an intense exchange with the industry, Koelnmesse cancelled the on-site edition of ISM 2021 with deep regret due to the Coronavirus pandemic.

Organizers for ISM, the world’s largest fair for sweets and snacks, are outlining the precautions they’re taking for next year’s event.
