Though more consumers are pursuing a healthy lifestyle, it won’t stop them from seeking indulgences that meet their needs, whether they’re based on health or ethical concerns.
Entrepreneur Magazine has put 13-year-old Alina Morse, founder of Zolli Candy, on the cover of its September 2018 issue to highlight the next generation of entrepreneurs.
Yesterday — while being interviewed by CNN on the floor of the New York Stock Exchange — Alina Morse, founder of tooth-friendly Zolli Candy, pledged to expand her Smiles Program candy giveaway from 250,000 to 1 million lollipops.
Morse, a Michigan native, will be featured in the 2017 Wild & Wacky Edition of Ripley’s Believe it or Not, which is designed for children ages 8 to 12. The special edition will be distributed to more than one million schools, libraries and families in North America, Australia and parts of Europe.
The biggest challenge, though, is not how much better-for-consumers the candy should be. It’s the cost of sugar, which is an understandably important ingredient in making lollipops.
