GODIVA will open a café in New York City next month. Set to open April 18 at 560 Lexington Ave., the GODIVA café will feature a sweet and savory menu of grab-n-go items.
Specialty candy retailer IT’SUGAR has partnered with FAO Schwarz to open a candy shop — FAO Schweetz — inside FAO’s new flagship store in New York City.
Ferrero has plans to make New York City a little nuttier and a little sweeter. The confectionery giant will open a Nutella Cafe on 13th Street and University Place, near Union Square, before the end of the year.
The Big Chocolate Show held its second annual event in New York City on Saturday, Oct. 7. The event’s highlight was honoring four experts as “Legends of Chocolate” for their contributions to the craft chocolate industry. The four honorees included cacao and chocolate flavor expert Ed Seguine; the father of American craft chocolate John Scharffenberger; authors Sophie & Michael Coe, and cacao geneticist Juan Carlos Motamayor.
The 2012 storm caused $50 million in damage to the company, leaving most of the its chocolate molding lines inoperable and the business unable to rehire many of its employees.
