Bay State Milling has announced its partnership with internationally recognized nutrition expert Jill Weisenberger, MS, RD, CDE, to promote the remarkable benefits of HealthSense high fiber wheat flour within the healthcare community.
Ranked one of US News & World Report’s, 10 Dietitian’s You Need to Follow on Social Media, four-time book author, Ms. Weisenberger has over 20 years of experience as a registered dietitian-nutritionist (RDN) and is a certified diabetes educator (CDE) and certified health and wellness coach. As a counselor, speaker and writer, Ms. Weisenberger strives to engage, inform and empower healthcare professionals and consumers to take control of their well-being through understandable, realistic and delicious nutrition science.
Over the next several months, Ms. Weisenberger will share her knowledge about the health benefits of resistant starch with the dietitian community through a focused campaign consisting of blogs, videos and social media posts. HealthSense flour contains high levels of amylose, a starch molecule which occurs naturally in wheat and is resistant to digestion, thereby acting as fiber, having a positive impact on digestive and glycemic health. HealthSense high fiber wheat flour provides food manufacturers a unique opportunity to naturally increase the fiber content of their product without changing or disrupting the taste, texture or functionality that their consumers expect.
“We are thrilled to have Jill Weisenberger on board to bring attention to the benefits of resistant starch and how baked products with HealthSense high fiber wheat flour may help close the fiber gap,” notes Colleen Zammer, senior director of marketing and product development. “Her reputation in the dietitian community will further develop HealthSense product awareness among healthcare professionals. This collaboration is not only an opportunity for Bay State Milling but also for our co-branding food manufacturers.”
Bay State Milling is currently developing high fiber wheat product applications and opportunities with a number of grain-based food companies through its HealthSense brand. The HealthSense brand features an array of ingredients that contain claimable levels of intact dietary fiber with the goal to support the development of food products with direct consumer health benefits.
