BEMA, Overland Park, KS, says it has changed the schedule for its 2016 Winter Summit—held Feb. 27–28 at the Hilton Chicago in Chicago–to enable attendees to make the most of their time and to deliver a high-impact event, customer connections and industry education.

BEMA’s executive committee and board of directors will meet during the day on Saturday, Feb. 27. In the evening, from 5:30–7, bakers and their customers are invited to attend a complimentary welcome reception. A by-invitation-only dinner for first-time attendees will be held from 7:30–9:30 at a still-to-be-determined venue.

On Sunday, Feb. 28, attendees can enjoy a continental breakfast from 7–8 a.m. Two consecutive, 50-minute-long committee meetings will be held from 8–9:50 a.m. At 10 a.m., the general membership meeting will convene, and include an International Baking Industry Exposition (IBIE) update and the Baking Industry Forum (BIF) presentation.

BEMA-U, which begins at 11:15 a.m. and is complimentary for bakers and their customers, will be presented by Afterburner, a highly respected group of military veterans and BEMA’s partner for several BEMA-U workshops, and focus on strategic project management.

The BEMA luncheon, held at 12:30 p.m., will feature mentalists and magicians David and Leeman from “America’s Got Talent” and the presentation of BEMA’s Lifetime Achievement Award. Bakers are extended a complimentary invitation to the luncheon; nonindustry guest tickets can be purchased for $80.
