Dianne's Fine Desserts, a Newburyport, MA-based provider of gourmet frozen thaw-and-serve desserts for the foodservice industry, has acquired retail desserts creator Daystar Desserts, Ashland, VA. The acquisition will provide a full complement of products, services, technology, innovation and distribution for the company’s customers.

Daystar Desserts is the creator of the World's Best Cheesecake as well as various private-label, in-store bakery desserts. Founded 17 years ago by culinary chef John Fernandez in his mother's kitchen, daily production for Daystar Desserts has grown from 15 to 15,000 cakes a day. The company, which operates under kosher supervision, has an Safe Quality Food Level 2 rating and has won numerous awards and recognition, including the Societe Culinaire Philanthropique de New York.

Daystar Desserts will operate as a division of Dianne's Fine Desserts.
