The Kansas City chapter of the Society for Association Executives (KCSAE) names Baking Equipment Manufacturers and Allieds (BEMA) president/CEO, Kerwin Brown, CAE, the 2013 Distinguished Association Executive. This award is presented to an association CEO who exemplifies the best in executive association management and who continually brings credit to the profession and the association management community. He or she provides leadership within his or her own association, KCSAE and other voluntary membership organizations.
Brown has been a member of ASAE and KCSAE for seven years. He earned his designation as a Certified Association Executive (CAE) through ASAE in 2010. In his time with KCSAE, he has volunteered for the program committee, serving as the assistant chairman, and was recently voted to serve on the KCSAE board of directors.
Brown states that he was “touched to be recognized in this way by his peers. I enjoy volunteering, and I’ve gained more than I’ve given to this association.” He says he values the opportunity to get to know other CEOs and learn from them. He sees these connections as a way to continually improve his leadership at BEMA.
