Baltimore-based contemporary artist Matthew Gray has installed a sweet new sculpture in his city. Gray’s medium? Sugar.

Made with 4,872 pounds of Domino sugar, the solid sculpture stands 10 feet tall in an abandoned warehouse at 2200 Aisquith St. in East Baltimore, which was gutted by a fire in 2014, the Baltimore Sun reported.

Called “God Bless the Child,” the sculpture is a monolithic, three-sided prism. Gray says the sculpture is “a gift to the city and creative community.”

Photos on Gray’s website show the colorful sculpture from several angles, as well as the creative process. Gray’s work has been featured in the New York Times, New York Magazine and Art+Auction.
