Sweet Candy Co. joins a select group of international food manufacturers after receiving an outstanding “A” grade during its inaugural British Retail Consortium (BRC) Audit this month.
“Sweet’s outstanding achievement of earning an “A” grade on the BRC audit is consistent with Sweet’s commitment to producing high quality products, while meeting the concerns and requirement of the world’s leading retailers,” says Richard Kay, Sweet’s president and ceo.
The BRC Global Standards are broken down into seven chapters, including: senior management's commitment and continual Improvement; The food Safety Plan (HACCP); food safety and quality management systems; site standards; product control; process control; and personnel. Sweet had to meet guidelines in each of the chapters to pass the audit.
Utah-based Sweet Candy Co., has been making candy since 1982. Its manufacturing capabilities include: juju and jellies, pectin candies, marshmallow confections, taffy, caramels, sugar panning, chocolate panning and chocolate enrobing.
