In an effort to expand its private label offerings, The European Candy Group has acquired Kraepelien & Holm (K&H).
Both companies are located in The Netherlands.
The European Candy Group, which is a holding company that was established by Bencis Capital Partners and Continental Candy Industries’ management, has facilities in Drachten and Hoorn, The Netherlands.
Meanwhile, K&H is in Oosterwolde, The Netherlands.
K&H specializes in private label manufacturing, focusing mainly on licorice. It’s well-known for its outstanding quality, high level of flexibility and its strong market approach.
The European Candy Group hopes to eventually become the leading producer and seller of private label confectionery, and says it wanted to purchase K&H because the company’s portfolio is a valuable addition to its own existing private label activities at Continental Candy Industries,
“This transaction fits our strategy to become a leading player in the market of private label sugar confectionery," says E. Waijenberg, ceo of The European Candy Group.
The acquisition is expected to be completed by the end of the month. It’s not expected to have an impact on employment.
"We are happy to become part of TECG, especially in view of the economies of scale required in this competitive market," says W. Dolman, managing director of K&H.
