Blommer Chocolate announced several new hires for key positions today.
Joining North America’s largest cocoa processor and ingredient chocolate supplier are David Meggs as v.p. of sales and marketing; Scott Amoye as v.p. of commodity risk management; and Margaret Sofio, as chief people officer. The company also revealed that it has promoted Scott Wasilak to sales director.

David Meggs
Meggs joins Blommer with an extensive background in sales management and business development in the food ingredient industry. He will be responsible for driving the company’s overall sales and marketing strategy. Meggs’ experience includes positions in manufacturing, technical sales, research and development, sales management, marketing, and business development. He has held positions with DuPont Protein Technologies, The Solae Co., PURAC America, Inc./Corbion, and most recently as sales leader for the America’s at Cargill in Texturing Solutions.
Scott Amoye
Amoye comes to Blommer with more than 30 years of cocoa and commodity experience, holding positions with Cargill, ED&F Man Holdings, Inc., Cadbury, Kraft/Mondelez International, ECOM Agrotrade Ltd and Guittard Chocolate Co. He will be responsible for commodity sourcing and risk management strategy and execution.
Margaret Sofio
Sofio brings to Blommer extensive experience building organizational capabilities for global manufacturing businesses in the chemical and energy sectors. Companies she has worked for include: Sunoco Logistics Partners, C&D Technologies and PQ Corp.
Scott Wasilak
Wasilak will be responsible for managing and directing sales on the East Coast. He joined Blommer Chocolate four years ago after 12 years in procurement, strategic sourcing and price risk management at companies such as Dannon, Mars and Mondelez. In joining Blommer, Wasilak first started as an account manager handling the New England, Quebec, and the Maritimes territory, and then two years later, transitioned into a strategic account manager role handling several key customer relationships.
