Just Born names co-CEOs
David Shaffer, son-in-law Chip Jett Jr. to lead the company after Ross Born’s retirement.
Just Born, Inc. has named David N. Shaffer and Gardner “Chip” M. Jett Jr. as co-chief executive officers, effective immediately.
The company’s board of directors unanimously elected Shaffer and Jett — Shaffer’s son-in-law — to the shared leadership position. Just Born says the appointments ensure it will celebrate its 100th anniversary under family ownership and leadership.
Former CEO Ross Born led the company for 40 years with Shaffer, his cousin and co-owner. Born announced plans to retire in November 2021.
As Shaffer and Born did, Shaffer and Jett will work together with David Yale, president and COO, to ensure the company continues to be a positive force in the industry and for all stakeholders.
Shaffer’s daughter, Samantha Jett, will assume the role of vice president of corporate responsibility, working to develop initiatives that will keep family values at the heart of the business for generations to come.
